Geoffrey Asmus Albany Concert reviews
Too many opening acts, but TOTALLY worth the wait!
Geoffrey Asmus was the highlight of the concert for me, delivering a fantastic 2-hour performance that made all the standing worthwhile after 3 acts and a little over 2 and a half hours. Jeremy brings a pure rock vibe, Taylor appears to be a fun guy who is always smiling, Zac is a beast on the drums, and Josh, while mellow, has a goofy side that I enjoyed. Hayley, the powerhouse lead singer, keeps everyone on their feet and never forgets about the audience on either side. The band members all have something unique to contribute, making for a memorable experience.
The concert began with a band from Sweden called "Kadawatha," who barely interacted with the crowd. Despite being able to rock by themselves, the audience was unresponsive during their set. It was their first tour, so there's room for improvement. Next up was "New Found Glory," a band of middle-aged dads still making music and engaging with the audience, likely due to their long history in the music industry.
Finally, "Tegan and Sara," the sweet and darling duo, took the stage. Their interactions with the crowd, filled with gratitude, were enjoyable to witness. Despite being just two performers with acoustic guitars, they commanded a large and lively crowd without needing flashy antics. Their performance set the stage for the headlining band.
